PC just rebooting by it's self?

My pc just reboots at random. I thought it might be a software issue, so I had Drive image installed on it when I first built it, and set it up with all the drivers for my pc, minimum at best. Save it. So I used this to restore the drive back to the way it was. But it is still rebooting? I can leave it on all night and it will not reboot, but some times I can be doing something in it and will just shut off and reboot? Have had problems with the mb before, even rma'ed and got another one. But then the problem was it would not start up after I made any adjustments to the cmos. The replacement one will work if you set up the cpu speed manually.

here's what I have:

abit kd7 mb with a amd xp 2000 cpu, 512 kingmax 2100 ddr ram(cls 2.0), wd 120 jb hard drive,yamaha 44x burner, light-on 52 speed cd-rom, dn-boy hd port with a 13 gb lappy hd, andtech case with a Enermax 300W Power Supply.

Overclocking? What are your temps? Maybe pushing the RAM too far? Memtest86 shouldn't show any errors after running for 5/6 hours.

Have you tried running it without that stuff?

Auto rebooting is often a sign of unstable PSU. Can also be sign of loose power cord contacts either at the power outlet in wall or at PSU socket.
Possibly bad or intermittent Power Good signal (like pressing the reset button randomly). Go to the Windows Support Center for more suggestions.

Hey thanks guys.

No I'm not overclocking any thing. The power supply is new, but I can change it out and see if it helps. The cords look ok and are connected well.

Maybe it's just me, but you didn't mention your video card, or your OS.

I've been running into the same problem with my PC. I have a PCI Geforce 2 MX. The problem is that the video card is for Directx 7 while Windows XP works with Directx8. Sometimes this would cause the video card to 'skip a beat' and cause a reboot.

Hey, the temps are 46 c , and the video card is a Saphire Radeon 9100, 128 meg ram, os is xp home. The problem seems to happen erractic, like some thing is telling it to reboot. I even restored my hd back to minumal stuff with drive image 2002. STILL DOING IT?
