I recently upgraded my system to an athlon 64 3200/K8V SE deluxe motherboard, 1 gb of pc3200 ram, and a radeon 9800 pro 128 for mainly gaming. The system seems to be running pretty well, but I think that it isn't performing as well as it could be. I've seen various benchmarks done by review sites and such, where systems with less ram and weaker processors get higher framerates. I was just wondering if theres any type of system optimization tips (besides overclocking) that anyone can give me that would get this system to perform as best it can.

Have you tried the driverheaven modified ATI drivers? Also when running games make sure all the background tasks you don't need are unloaded/disabled (AV, firewall, etc.). It might pay to set up a separate user account in Win where none of those things are even loaded.
