I exchanged some PC parts with my friend (basically, the whole thing, except for cases and CPU). Alot of random problems seem to come up now (random hanging, open up internet explorer and the windows wont show up), and now, I have a problem playing the Sims 2 (Any and every expansion, I have tried each and same problem). Simply, I load up the game, normally a video or something would play (you can hear sound of a video) but the screen is just plain blue, so I hit ESC, and from the sound, it skips the video. Then I assume it's sitting on the main menu, but the screen stays a constant blue. I have tried updating graphic card drivers, and still nothing. What I find odd is that, I exchanged parts with my friend, and he had the PC for a long time with the same parts and he had no problems. I highly doubt anything is incompatible, since the pc generally seems to run fine. The CPU's which we changed should have no difference, since mine is a AMD 3200+ and his is a AMD 3800+.

PC specs:

Mobo: ASrock
CPU: AMD 3200+
RAM: 1gb
GFX: nVidia 6800GS AGP

I have heard about the ULI issue with ASrock mobos and AGP cards, but I made sure to install that first, then the base AGP drivers.

Did you change motherboard models? That often requires a fresh install of Windows.

Have you run a memory tester like memtest?

Are you overclocking anything? Try running at stock awhile.

Have you ran DXdiag? Triple check all connections & make sure card(s) are well seated. Do you have another VC to try? You might want to pull the card & blow out the slot with canned air & take a close look to be sure all the pins are as should be. Check volts & temps, see that fan on VC is spinning & heatsink is seated. Just some basics that you may have tried, if so take this as a bump 4 U.
