Finally, did anyone else find all of those cases unappealing? I wouldn't use any of them.

I agree, I wouldn't use any of them. Most of them due to too much lighting. If it's going in my living room it is going to be silent, decent looking, and not have any lights on it. Heck, if I could find a Bluray drive that didn't have an access light on the front of it, I would install it in my HTPC.

Sorry, but this is a really badly written survey. A lot of the questions are ambiguous and I don't know how you can possibly get useful information out of them. Did you just come up with things at random?

You need to learn how to use verb tenses as well. And if someone has more than one gaming system, how are you supposed to answer some of the questions? Overall, or for the most used gaming system?

I use my PC more for gaming and my Xbox 360 more for media center capabilities. For the PC, my priorities are graphics performance above all else. For the Xbox it's more important to have media center features.

Or when asking about which factors influenced my decision - for my Xbox, my friends were a very big factor since many of them also have Xboxes. But for my PC, they weren't a big influence at all. What should I do, split the difference? It just doesn't make sense.

Done, but I have to agree with some of the criticisms. There are some 350 million PC gamers out there, but most don't buy their PC specifically for gaming. At best it is an after thought for most people and they might upgrade the graphics card. The vast majority of us who want the kind of performance machines in your survey will just build our own rigs.

Specifying if all these questions are regarding your "primary gaming system" would go a long way (i.e. if your htpc is a different system, don't consider it).

Also I agree that the question about system cost is too vaguely defined.

I'm guessing the OP is a one-post-wonder though, we probably won't hear back.

You're right, I didn't notice that this was posted almost a week ago. And OP's last activity was at the exact same time he posted so he hasn't even read this thread.
