Hmm, I'm still not sure how they reach their figure. Considering the only real "gaming" hardware in a computer is the video card, it would perhaps be more realistic to only count those figures.

I built a "gaming" machine, but the only thing that makes it a gaming machine is the high end video card, the rest of my computer is for more than just games.


That's a very restrictive view of what constitutes gaming hardware. There are obviously countless entire computers that are built specifically for gaming. No doubt they can also be used for other purposes, but that doesn't negate the fact that people buy high end processors, gaming cases, and other expensive parts specifically for gaming. Maybe 20 billion is the high end of the scale, but it certainly gives some idea of just how money is involved.
