After the normal chair/desk/24" monitor gamining, I have a PC set up with a 65" LCD for gaming.

The question is, the furniture for the setup.

One idea is get a small desk and chair for the middle of the room, for the keynoard and mouse.

Another is looking for some way to be able to game from a recliner or couch (the current sit forward on the couch and type on the keyboard that sits on a chair placed in front of the couch while the mouse sits on a book on the couch cushion to the side is not a long term design).

Anyone who has set this sort of thing up have any tips?

The recliner sounds great, but I suspect it won't be easy to play well sitting back relaxed. The chair/small desk option might be the one that works best for gaming.

My setup for my 47" LCD

Standard Computer desk with side drawer set for TV and PC's respectively.
Standard Computer chair sat back some distance.
The cardboard box that a computer tower (Coolermaster Centurion 590) came in for my mouse, arm rest and mini-storage area.
Lap - for my keyboard (G15)

I pretty much sit in the middle of my room with the bed right behind me.

No experience doing it, but how about a wireless kb on your lap and a wireless mouse on some sort of thin but firm platform, like a notepad or something, on the armrest of the recliner?

Personally, I would go with a couch/recliner for when you're playing games that are controller friendly (sports, 3rd person, racing) on the big screen.

For MMO/RTS/FPS that require precise mouse and keyboard work I'd sit at a desk even if it meant a much smaller screen. Getting a perfect mousing surface while sitting on a couch is nearly impossible, but if it had to be done then I'd go with one of Razer's eXactmats on an end table and use the control surface.

Also, as I did...have you thought about building your own desk? I did and couldnt be happier!
