Torrenting is immoral, what would Jesus think if he found out you were torrenting? Satan would be all for it. So if you dig Satan, as I do, go for it!

Games sold from here offer you the option of downloading them via direct download or via torrent:

I've always used the torrent option to save them bandwidth cost and the torrents have always been pretty fast for me.

Yes, the author of the article is correct - torrenting games illegally (as opposed to legally in the humble bundle example I have) there is always the chance of you downloading a virus or maybe even getting caught up in the law for piracy. It's not a good idea. Direct2drive now links to Gamefly, which is a legitimate website (I don't know if they use torrents or not). Most people use Steam:

b/c there often have REALLY good sales, they've been around a long time, and they have a large game catalog. You can purchase a Steam key for a game on other sites like Amazon or Greenmangaming.com and then activate the key on your Steam account (you are not allowed to resell games from your Steam account).

I don't use BT at all if possible - there are a select few companies that INSIST on using it to distribute their titles/updates (notably Blizzard, though I haven't played a Blizzard game in forever) simply because I refuse to let the company I pay subsidize their distribution costs by utilizing my upstream bandwidth to distribute their software.

That, and in almost all instances for me at least BT has been slower than direct downloads.

I only use BT for everything. It amazes me that these companies put all these games, music and movies out on it for free! Granted there's alot of shovelware to sort through.
