I'm waiting on reviews for AvP. Still have about 2 weeks left so time will tell but that's a good price.

hmm, this new Aliens vs. Predator is made by the same dev company as the first - Rebellion. I watched the multiplay video on gamespot and it looks fairly similar to the old one except with upgraded graphics.

Just picked up a new copy of Mass Effect 2 on eBay for $28!

A lot of those cheaper versions of ME2 are the Indian version (still in english, but not the North American version) so Buyer beware on patches and such...

Just to clarify, can you buy a retail box of AvP and once you get it, input the serial number into steam that way steam will keep it up to date?

I'm guessing this is probably a foreign version, since the price was good. But the listing didn't say anything about it being a foreign version, so we'll see. In my experience, however, foreign versions usually patch just fine, and are a good way to get a good deal. I've played the foreign versions of several A-list releases, such as Dragon Age and Modern Warfare 2, and never had a bad experience.

You can download the PC demo from Steam right now if anyone is interested...

Nice, at first it wouldn't let me download it then I restarted Steam and it's downloading now. I'm going to play the demo tonight and see if it's worthy of my purchase.

Well I'm pleasantly surprised: it arrived today and it was a fully legitimate US retail copy. Already installed, and the CD key was valid, as was the one-time use key for downloadable content :)

gogamer is very very good about labeling which games are import and which are not. Occasionally (though not too often) they have been slow to ship and if you actually need help (package is lost) they can be a bit slow on the service front.

However, (repeat), I've never had a problem with games being mislabeled import vs usa. Most of the complaints I see in this are are user error (website clearly indicates import and user still orders thinking it is usa).

Most of the copies on ebay I've seen are from india. I have no clue if these have issues or not with keys (or free dlc). I tried to find reviews or comments on the web that indicated one way or the other but didn't see much with google.

I ended up going with a copy on ebay where the seller clearly indicated it was usa unopened; though i have not yet received it so I'm reluctant to post a link. It was a bit more than the india copy which seems to be uniformly $28. My total came to $35 (not much less than go gamer) but there was also the $3.5 bing bonus so total was $32.50. to be honest at this point if i were doing it all over I would go with gogamer or wait another 6 months to see if the price drops. It was sort of impulse buying as I still have a stack of games to play (two of which are very high on my list). Bleh. I should stop buying games.

yes I'm bidding on another copy myself hopefully just 30 will do it for me.

That's what I was saying a few posts ago: the $28 copy I bought off eBay turned out to be the USA version, full retail packaging. I've installed and the key is good, and so is the "bonus" key for some free downloadable content. I don't know how US sellers are managing to get US copies for that cheap, but I was pleasantly surprised since I had assumed that I'd probably be receiving an Indian version.

Re: Indian versions, however, I've never had a problem with CD keys not working. My copy of Dragon Age: Origins is an Indian import (also a Bioware game, like Mass Effect 2), and it works no problem, including with downladable content.
