Hello everyone, I posted this on another forum but my problem went unsolved. Maybe you guys can help me out. Here is my situation:

I bought a BFG 6800 GT OC, when I installed it on my system it started to randomly freeze every 1-5 hours (with no games running, just a couple small applications).

Things I have done and tried:
Updated Bios
Updated system drivers
Complete system reinstalls many times
Used driver cleaner 3
Tried different video drivers
Up my VGA voltage to 1.6, 1.65, 1.7
Up my CPU voltage to 1.55 (since MSI under-volts)
Ran memtest, 30 passes, 0 errors, so RAM can be ruled out.
Again, everything is updated

My system is a new build, here is the current stats:

MSI Neo2 Platinum
AMD 64 3500 90nm Winchester
1 Gigabyte of Ram 2325 timings
BFG GeForce 6800 GT OC
NEC DVD+RW 3500
200 Gig Seagate barracuda 7200 RPM SATA HD
1 1.2mb floppy drive
1 120mm, 1 PCI slot fan
Antex 160w case
Aspire 520watt PSU 35a 12v

I had a eVGA 6800 Limited Edition (down-clocked Ultra) before this BFG 6800 GT OC card and I did not get these freezes. So I am unsure if it is the PSU.

My temperatures are low, CPU is 47c I think and video card is around 57c, system is around 24c.

PSU is currently giving: +3.3v = 3.23, +12v = 11.85, +5v 4.94

I have called BFG technical support many times but they could not help me. They offered to send me a replacement but it may be someone else's "refurbished" card, so I said I will think about it. I don't think it is a problem with the card though, but I am unsure what the problem is. One thing interesting is that while I ran memtest all night, over 8 hours maybe, I did not get no freezes (I was not in windows).

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Give these settings a shot:

"AGP Fast Writes" = Off
"AGP Aperture" = 512MB
"AGP 3.0 Speed" = 4x8x

I tried that, probably one of the first things I looked at. I should have listed that above as checked. Thank you.

Anyone else have a suggestion?

Have you checked out this THREAD in the vidoe section of the forums?

There are several "fixes" listed in it. Perhaps one will solve your problem.

Looks pretty bad, especialy the 5v rail. Aspire PSU's are not the best quality, so that could be your problem. A high end video card, with a low grade PSU, is bound to cause issues.
