PC Freezes, some programs corrupted?

Ive had my PC for about 2 and a half years now. Today I was playing WoW, and all of a sudden it freezes (Getting a 0x1A Stop message, something about memory). I restart, all fine. I start playing again, and its great for a while. Then, it froze again with a 0x8E (Nvidia disp.dll error, same ive gotten since I built my rig).

I play WoW again, and it kept getting error #132, so I used the repair program for the game, and it told me to reinstall. I copied an older folder of the game, even though it worked great before, and it told me it was corrupt. Same with another game folder on a PC that plays it great at this very moment.

Firefox is now crashing unusually often, and adobe flash is saying something about performing an illegal operation. Also, AVG says the program is now corrupt too when I tried to update. I defrag'd, error-checked, virus/trojan/etc-checked by the way.

What is going on? What should I do? Is it time for the good ol' format C:\?

edit: changed title for new info/specifics to problem.

I would try a reload and see if the problems still exist.

I randomly thought to try Memtest, and I came across a very startling problem. In the entire 56min it took for the first round of tests, I got 84920 errors. Test 5 got no errors, and test 8 got only a few. However, the rest went about 50 errors/sec. However, I tested the ram not even a month ago, thinking that was the problem then. Im guessing that is why I downloaded a file (Nvidia drivers) and had it say error. Yet, when I restarted, it worked great. I still get 0x8E errors for my nvidia disp.dll, im thinking my video card has been the culprit for the rest of my problems since I built my rig. Makes sense why I keep getting a stop message now when I try and copy a 8GB Folder from my external.

I will take some Corsair XMS(?) 2x1GB sticks from another PC in the house tomorrow to see if that fixes things. I have a 7950GT in the other rig, might see if I can swap that in on Thursday to see if that fixes the other problem.

But wow, that many errors. I wonder what would've happened if I let it go for the entire night....
