Often, but not always, I cannot click on user to logon to WinXP pro.

Mobo: ECS K7VTA3
OS: XPpro w/ SR-2

Symptom that may be related--
Monitor will never go into either screen saver or power saver mode.
Video card is either a Matrox G450 or maybe an old Matrox Millenium PCI.
Monitor is a 19" Samsung LCD.

does the mouse move but you cannot click?

what about if you turn off the friendly logon screen and use the old-school prompt. are there logon problems then?

do you have a replaced logon screen or some hack like that installed?

are you sure your mouse isn't loose from the PS/2 or USB port?
