PC Freezes in AoE3 Demo after Drivers and Directx Updated
The demo is a bit choppy and laggy but I didn't have updated drivers and directx so I took care of that and now it freezed a few minutes into game play. I tried it four times and it froze four times. That was yesterday, today my PC froze numerous times when trying to start it up. I turned off my virus protection before updating the drivers so they could configure properly. What could it be?
I notice the demo is still a bit choppy and laggy and that the graphics are messed up (before it freezes) with lights in the trees and the green plains, lights that are not suppossed to be there, even with drivers updated.
Here are my specs:
OS: Windows XP Pro (5.1, Build 2600)
BIOS: Award Modular BIOS version 6.0
Processor: Intel (R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 1.70GHz, ~1.7GHZ
Memory: 2048MB RAM
DirectX Version: 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904)
NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti with AGP8x
Integrated RAMDAC
Approx. Total Memory: 128.0 MB
Current Display Mode: 1280 x 1024 (32bit) (60HZ)
Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor
DirectX Features all enabled
I am running the demo on default settings
Drivers
Main Driver: nv4_dsp.dll
Version 6.14.0010.7801
Date: 8/2/2005 16:35:00
