Hi
I want to build a new pc for gaming.
I wonder if you could help me chose proper components.

I already have
GPU GTX 970 G1 from Gigabyte
PSU Corsair RM Series 750W Modular 80Plus GOLD

Already picked components

CPU - i5 6600K
Case Fractal R5
SSD - crucial mx 100 250 gb for OS

Need
Motherboard MSI or Gigabyte
RAM 8 or 16 do i really need more that 2400 MHz now ?
CPU cooling for OC

Thank you for your time and any hints in my case.

Good components so far.

I would go with Asus Z170-A or Z170 Pro Gaming mobo. Good specs, not too expensive.

8 or 16 doesn't really matter for gaming, buy 16 if you want to have more than enough just in case. Preferably 2666MHz or faster, e.g. HyperX Fury 2666MHz or RipjawsV 3200MHz.

As for CPU cooling, can't go wrong with a HR-02 Macho Rev. B.

I'd personally rather have an i7 (non-K) + H170 + 2133mhz DDR4 than i5 + Z170 + 3200mhz RAM + aftermarket cooling. Price should be similar.

@Yuriman

Very true.. in fact it'd probably be less expensive:

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($249.99 @ Newegg)
CPU Cooler: Thermalright Macho Rev.B 73.6 CFM CPU Cooler ($54.90 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($157.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3200 Memory ($53.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $511.86

vs

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($329.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H170-GAMING 3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($94.99 @ Newegg)
Memory: Crucial 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($34.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $459.97

i7-6700 will run at 3.7-4.0 GHz, while 6600K can be overclocked to around 4.5-4.7GHz. Is the 15-20% faster <4 thread performance worth not having HT threads? With the OC accounted for, i7 will probably be about 20% faster in heavily threaded tasks. Overall, they're even.

Only if you pick cheaper overclocking components does the i5-6600K set become cheaper:

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($249.78 @ OutletPC)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($24.75 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z170X-Gaming 3 ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($112.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws 4 Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR4-3000 Memory ($43.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $431.50

This would still be fine for a 4.4GHz overclock, maybe more with a good chip and low temperature stress testing (e.g. x264 test from OCN).

To be fair, the i5-6600K with OC and a good cooler will run quieter at 100% load than the i7-6700 with Intel stock cooler.

Why not both? You don't need a really good mobo for a small RAM OC, and that has a significant impact in some benchmarks. Also, I'd really suggest 16GB RAM at this point. Arkham Knight required more than 8GB; Quantum Break appears to recommends it as well. (Not that your GPU will support Quantum Break.) (I misread recommended as required earlier.)

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i7-6700 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor ($329.89 @ OutletPC)
Motherboard: *ASRock Z170M Pro4S Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($79.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: *Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2666 Memory ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $484.87
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

I would invest in a decent motherboard and fast memory. 3000 or >

Save your money on a CPU cooler and look into used ones. Locally preferably.

I would hesitate to scrimp $50 for the non-K CPU. Base speed of 4GHz and much better resell value later for the K model...

Thank you a lot for your time and suggestions.

I think ill try configuration with I5 6600k,

I dont want to spend fortune but i want to have stable configuration that last for years. CPU probably wil bee oc a little (nothing extreme), just to be enough for gaming for 4 maybe 5 years.

PS: which Motherboeard would be better
http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-motherboard-z170a

or

http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz170xgaming3

Considered also this msi z170a-g43 plus

but it is to fresh and I cant find any good reviews about it

Current configuration

CPU i5 6600k
Ram still dont know also need your help
Motherboeard - probably one of those mentioned up just need your help
CPU cooling SilentiumPC Fortis 3 HE1425
SSD - crucial mx 100 250 gb for OS
Case - Silentium Gladius m35
GPU - Gtx 970 G1 Gigabyte
PSU - Corsair RM Series 750W Modular 80Plus GOLD

At those prices, Gigabyte Z97X Gaming-3 is probably the best choice. Nothing wrong with Asus Z170-A, it's just a little expensive.

Where did you find MSI Z170A-G43 Plus? It's not available anywhere in US according to pcpartpicker.com. Where is it you're buying, exactly?

So technical both msi gaming and asus -a are similar quality but gigabyte is just cheapper. Another words same quality just different price.

I am not from US ;)

I can go an buy it in every store and it is cheapper than asus -a. I saw review in which was said that it has good psu section for cpu and good cooling but it is not popular so this is why i asked.

SLI Version Rev https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0S-4cnUXERc

BTW someone proposed me asus-p instead of asus-A. I know that p is cheaper and has less usb and sata connectors but what is real difference?

what about Ram? I am so confused wihich to chose. for this configuration so many options :(

Okay, would you care to tell us where you are buying components from? It would be a lot easier to make recommendations.

Regarding RAM, post #2 has the info u need: DDR4-2666MHz or faster, 2x4GB or 2x8GB. Other than that it doesn't really matter, just buy the cheapest per gig per MHz.
