PC for EntertainmentCenter/TV-output question

Anyone doing this with like a SFF system?...i'm wondering..the output quality for text
is usually VERY bad and u cannot clearly read texts so how do u use it for email?...like through
your tv?

Anything above 800x600 isn't for the most part readable through the TV output of a vid card. I personally run 720x480 on the PC I use for DivX to my TV through Svideo. Looks great.

Not hardly, $2800 for a 42" model direct from Gateway.

Anyway, if that is out of your price range... use a SFF PC at 800x600 of below.

Actually the 42" are under $3K now, but I'm keeping my old 32" TV for at least another year. Many plasmas do have VGA ports though, and if money's no object ....

i have a 5yr old 20inch TV

On your TV, yes you'll need to increase font size. I have a 32" Toshiba using Svideo which helps significantly. I wouldn't recommend going above 640x480 on your TV unfortunately as you will probably be using composite inputs.
