PC File Inspector woes

I recently downloaded PC file inspector for my boss to recover a bunch of .jpg's that were lost after the IT guys reinstalled his win2k professional. Because PC inspector has you specify the file size, I set it at 10mb just in case there were any really large images so that none of the images would get cut off (by default it was set to 1.44mb for floppy disk backup). Ok, so now I have all of the images but (despite the original file size) they are all 10mb and unfortunately he doesn't have the 16gb of free space on his work pc to hold all of that.

At this point I'm looking at a daunting task of trying to manually locate the end of file character for each of these images and delete the excess...

I know it sounds kind of wierds, but is there any kind of software out there that would be able to analyze the .jpg images to look for the EOF character and cut out everything else that comes after that point?

Any help would be a relief =D
