so i'v been playing this awesome Free-to-Play game for just about a month now, it's called Blacklight Retribution.

website: http://blacklight.perfectworld.com/
forums: http://blacklight-forum.perfectworld.com/
download link: http://blacklight.perfectworld.com/download
(it's circa 5Gb, installs on C:, has a launcher/patcher)

This is a DX11 FPS game in the spirit of CoD and MoH, plenty of eye candy (makes my GTX280 run like crazy), with a very modern interface and it play absolutely perfect; yesterday i was even downloading at nearly top bandwidth and i could still play with nearly zero lag. Amazing.
Has EU, US and NZ servers.

You simply register and play for free; the game is a team based shooter where you earn experience and level up from lev 1 to lev 30, unlocking new weapons and items to use. each round you earn short term cp, command points, to use your toys - rocket launchers, airstrikes, battlesuits, flamethrowers, automated turrets, railguns, etc ..
each game you earn GP which you keep and use to buy weapons and toys from either 1-day use to actually permanent, without spending any real cash whatsoever. I'v banged my head against too many Pay-to-Win games and this one ain't. If you want i can give you a few pointers for starters.

The game is also very active with new content being released surprisingly often and lots of players at all hours of the day and night.

FYI i don't work for these guys, i just play a lot of quakelive and now that i've found BL:R i just find it so much more enjoyable... and well, 2012 instead of 2001.

So come to the EU server, i'm Sky.

that was about the beta; the game's out of beta and as it is now it's really fun. if you play CS or quake you will own everyone which is funny. the various equipments and customisations are as well balanced as you'll find in this sort of games. all in all i say this game is win, try it if you like either FPS or games with a lot of toys.

Just thought I'd drop in and say, this game is very high-quality for an F2P title. I just started playing it tonight and I've enjoyed it so much, I bought the starter pack for $20. It's pretty rare when an F2P game is good enough for me to actually spend money on it.

This is right up there with Tribes as one of the best F2P shooters currently available right now. Give it a try.

F2P is the future.. heck the some of the Best Selling games are talking about going that way (BF, MOH etc) Quality F2P is getting quite standard. BUT F2P is a pretty lose statement, you dont have to pay, but as AD&Donline, LOTRonline, etc prove.. everybody says they dont pay, but over 40% do.. and they actually make more money then subscriptions do in the end. Win WIN.. people who like to pay to win can.. people who like to play for free can.
