PC, DVR and Fios

I want to use my PC as a DVR, I currently am running Vista 64 and I may move to windows 7 next year. What do I need to make this happen.

You'll need an ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner or something similar, and you'll need to rent a CableCard from Verizon to tune to your stations ($5 / month / card).

And you won't be able to use that CableCard on Vista, but Windows 7 gets that capability.

There are other ways... I currently have 2xSTB's, and have them hooked up via Firewire. The Firewire changes the channels, and I hook up the Audio/video out of the STB to my Hauppauge card.. I'm only using SVideo out, but if you get the right Hauppauge Box, you can record the HD channels.
