Anyone into video / audio editing?

Curious - I've seen so many conflicting reviews and recommendations about partitioning pc-daw systems for performance. I now have 80gb and 160gb drives and am about to reformat. What would be the best way to set these up? Using WinXP, 512mb DDR, 1.6g P4, Abit BD7-II.

NTFS or FAT32?
Cluster Size?
20gb partition for OS, another partition for software? On which drive?
Single small partition with swap file only?

One last issue - I installed a 160gb on my AMD PC and it could only recognize it as a 139gb drive. After partitioning it as 20gb / 140gb partitions all was fine, but is this a typical limitation with all current motherboards? If that's the case, should I just use the 160gb drive for the OS/programs and set it up in a 20gb partition since I'll have to split it like this anyway?

Thx - just looking at starting a serious discussion on this topic and hearing others' experiences.
