PC crashes while using Internet?

So recently my computer has been crashing when I use the Internet. I can play all of my games jus fine. (Dmc, bf3, tomb raider, crysis 3 and so on). I did a fresh install of windows7 and I still get the same problem. All of my temps/voltages are normal. After messing around I'm thinking it has to do with amd display drivers. Registry is clean, ram is good,psu is good. Bios is at default settings, any suggestions would be really appreciated. And to be specific when I want to watch Netflix is when my screen will jitter and then crash!
 
My first instinct would say, have you checked your network adapter? Maybe you're running an older driver for it. Check it through the device manager and find out if the manufacturer('s website) lists a newer version.
I would say that if you can play those games just fine then the display drivers should be fine too. It could very well be like java or flash that needs updating if it crashes on netflix, not sure what implement they use.

Edit: Ah it uses silverlight. Try to remove all of it and reinstall that first. It's a common(ish) problem.
 
The same kind of thing happened to me recently when I had upgraded to an FX8350 (w H100i heatsink) and did some OC-ing. Prime stable @ OC, but open up any browser and a crash would be imminent. I narrowed it to a flash or flash-related problem - I could force a crash by loading the vw.ca website - but I got so fed up with the constant freezing I just took off the OC and run at stock. Since then, no problems. I have a 7970 as well so I suppose it could have something to do with AMD drivers, but doubtful if the problem corrected when removing the CPU OC.

I had also suspected the cause to be that I had attached the CPU heatsink too tight, but I loosened it a bit and had no change. Then I was thinking I had too much CPU voltage for the OC, but didn't actually get around to troubleshooting that one. Googling around seemed to suggest the problem lies in Chrome, but I forced it on Firefox and IE as well as Chrome.

I think Netflix use flash, which is updated. Same goes for java (32bit & 64bit). Ill give the network adapter a try, seeing how I only installed the drive off the mobo cd.
 
@cbrunny I know I could prolly upgrade from the 6870 but I have no issues with it. Your post got me thinking tho, my my gpu is oc from the factory, maybe lower clock speed?! I'm not ruling out a flash or java issue out yet. Secondly I kno chrome is a hog, but my corsair 4x4gb 1600mhz should have no issues running chrome.
 
When you say your computer crashes, do you mean that it will crash to a blue screen and reboot itself or..? If so, what is the error code it gives you. This will help us identify the exact issue better.
 
No bsod, jus a jitter or shake of the screen then everything goes black. Audio will sometimes continue playing before a manual reset. When I get home though I will check error codes and report back. Maybe setting in CCC or a driver conflict? I also have a spare 6850 that I can throw just to rule out the gpu.
 
I think that might have something to do with the silverlight plugin most likely. Reinstall that entirely to rule that out. Browser security settings could conflict with it too.

If it's just Netflix, it's probably a problem with Silverlight, as Major Orange mentioned. Go ahead and uninstall the version you have a replace it with a fresh download of the latest one.
 
Quick update: after reinstalling Silverlight everything seems normal. But i will test it tonight to make sure. So I wonder way could have caused the problem? Corrupt files?

That's my guess. I wouldn't worry unless it starts happening frequently.
 
Happend again last night guys. Sry for such a noob question but I noticed my primary hdd is nfts format, before my fresh install it was fat32. Could that likely be a problem? I'm only asking that because before the install I had about 20 games installed and hdd was only 2% fragmented. I did a full defrag yester an my hdd wa still 32% fragged!? So what gives here? Please someone school me on this.

Which hard drive in windows installed on? One test would be to unplug the hard drive windows is not installed on, and see if the system does any better.
 
Seagate. Im still wondering why my drive is so fragmented. Before the fresh install on start up I had about 80 processes running, with no issues at all. (I kno it's a lot, I installed all the ROG software) and currently in running 54.

Sometimes files currently being used by a running application cannot be defregmented. I use Auslogics Disk Defrag, which tells you how many fragments there are of each file once you Analyze the disk.

This can also be an indicator of a sector going bad, but I would check the option above first.
 
Apparently defraggler was the problem. I download the program you recommended and analyzed the disk, 0% fragmentation. Whew a load off my mind. Also I reset bios and I have yet to crash. The only other thing I have done was update bios to 1707 prior to the fresh install. I guess if it crashes again ill flashback my previous bios, seeing how I had no problems.
