i've been getting these errors while shutting my pc down for a while, and now my pc wont boot. i've been getting this error:

stop: 0x000000D1, 0x00000008, 0x00000008,0x00000000, 0xBA6D0986

*** si3132r5.sys address BA6D0986 base at BA6CD000 date stamp 443D27A2

along with another "memory dump" error. both gave me blue screens. now when i go to turn on my system, it turns on and the all the lights turn on. even my boot up screen tries to pop up onto the monitor, but quickly turns blank. after that, the system stays on but nothing shows up on my monitor. my monitor light is green, meaning that it is on. i dont get any random or series of beeps. i only get a few clicking sounds.

is this a HD or GPU failure?

Main Features:

Asus P5N32-SLI Premium
Intel C2D 6600
2 x WD HD 74GB 10,000RPM
EVGA 7950GT
700w PS
Windows XP Home

When you say "my boot up screen tries to pop up onto the monitor," do you mean the POST in the BIOS or is it starting to load Windows?

The si3132r5.sys is a RAID driver. That doesn't necessarily mean that the drives/controller are to blame though, there can be a number of issues that will cause an error like that.

Are you overclocking? How long did everything work properly before the problems started?

Sounds like you may have a problem with your RAM. You will need to use Memtest86 to see if there are any errors. Let it run threw a few full cycles before stopping it. It will probably take a couple of hours or so to complete.

yes, the post in BIOS. not windows. im not overclocking. the pc was working for a few months b4 things started up. i cant run memtest because my pc wont boot up anymore. can anyone shed more light please. i'd hate to buy two more WD 74gb 10,000's.

With symptoms like that, my first guess would be that the power supply might be dying. At POST the CPU is pulling maximum watts, and I've seen a failing power supply show these symptoms. It could also be a failing memory module. Something you can try is removing all but one DIMM (assuming you have two or more) and pulling the power connectors to both hard drives, optical drive and anything else unnecessary. Now power it up and see if it gets any farther through the POST, like to where it complains about not finding a boot device. If so, it's either the removed memory or the power supply, so reconnect the power to the drives and test again. If it fails, it's probably the power supply. If disconnecting everything didn't help, try swapping the installed DIMM for the one you removed and test again. If it finishes POSTing, it's probably bad RAM.

Of course, this isn't the best way to test because the drives and RAM don't really pull all that much power, so you can't remove a whole lot of load from the power supply. If you have (or can borrow) another power supply, try that. Sometimes the output of a power supply will slowly taper off until the system becomes unstable and then eventually won't boot.
