PC controller problems!

I have a Steelseries 3gc controller, and it has many problems with my games.

  1. Many games do not recognize the controller.
I have already setup a few games, but others don't even notice that the controller is plugged in. In TDU2, I cannot get the controller to work at all, not even with Xpadder.
  2. The joystick controls are not smooth.
The controls are jerky, and they go as right, left, up or down. There is no "slight right" it just goes all the way over in the direction, as if it was a d-pad.
  3. It is stated to be a "generic game controller" in the device manager.
Do you think that if I installed a different controller driver it could work better?

^This. Also, not every game has support for controllers, in which case you can use an input emulator with your controller, like xpadder.
