PC configuration

I am looking for a good CPU-Motherboard-RAM combination for my uncle. He uses it for occasional video encoding, watching movies, excel, etc. Criterion:

1. It should cost around $250
2. overclocking (strictly on stock cooling)
3. It should be future upgradable specially for Multi core CPU's

I have selected ASUS P5K SE + Pentium E2160+ Kingston value RAM

Any more suggestions??

Too bad you can't spend a little more. Fry's has the 9500 amd quad core with ecs 780 board for $299 today.

Abit IP35 + e4500 + 2x1GB Kingston DDR2 for about $270 (after shipping and $25MIR)

You don't specify it you need integrated video or not, this board does not offer that option but is an excellent OC board. The extra cache on the e4500 will help with the video encoding.

You could also swap out the e4600 for the e2180 and be below budget at $230 after MIR.

EDIT: Heck, give him the innards from your system and use the new parts yourself. Any C2D @ 3GHz will be much much faster than the PD-820 you have in your sig.
