PC components are so uninteresting

Typical PC freak internet post:

OMG, the new radeon XYZ1000 is soo much faster than the GeForceFX XP 12345. But my friend says that in Unreal 6 he got 11FPS more with the GeForce, but I don't think he had FSAA and AF turned on so that makes an unfair comparison for the Radeon card. Plus, he owns a Dell so you can't trust anything he says because you know all true nerds build thier own PCs and we all use Athlon chips because the Athlon XP+ is 12% faster than the Pentium 4 with HT based on the benchmarks at hardOCP...

Who cares, all you're doing is playing video games!

Different strokes for different folks. Not everyone likes to write programs. Some people like to use their PC for entertainment and for some people that entertainment is games. And to a lot of guys, their PC is like a sportscar. They tune it, tweak it, brag about it, and street race it.
