I was wondering if there is a site that shows historical prices (ex. 5 year charts. or something like that..something like stock prices over time) of common pc components like memory, etc. ?

The realtime pricing guides on the main anandtech page has some historical data, but not as far back as you want.

Think about what you're asking... Just think a minute...
5 year history on parts that weren't around 5 years ago?

Um, I can guarantee that memory and storage space were around 5 years ago. Price per gigabyte over 5 years in both areas would be interesting to look at, and I'm sure other comparisons could be found.

How in the world would you do an accurate currency conversion on prices from 2002?
BTW, Those prices also exclude the VAT & Sales taxes. Is anything sold in the UK that doesn't include the VAT?

Apples to Oranges comparison. ;)

Blain, . . . those things can be researched.
Exchange rates on specific dates are a matter of record. But, if you weant to adjust them fior inflation to show constant dollars, that requires a little more work. In a way, I see this sort of like a dog chasing a car. What happens if it catches the car? :)
