okay, right now I have a presario 6430nx computer

its got a ms-6390 motherboard http://www.msicomputer.com/product/detai...(My current mobo)

and I'm looking for a motherboard that can fit everything..like an Athlon 2600+, 184pin ddr dimm ram (the sticks are 2100)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16813185074 (the mobo I want to buy)
PC Chips M848A $27

I also need a mobo that you can overclock, and has AGP 8x not 4x (my current one)

thank you so very very much

now, is this one gonna be a problem with my ram speed?
(this one is really fits the bill, cheap and just what I need)

now my FSB speed is 133 and my rated fsb speed is 266

and my DRAM frequency is 133

hm I think I found a solution..My mom's computer has 1 512mb 3200 stick
and I have 2 256mb (one 2100 one 2700)..so i'll just stick those two in hers and when I get the new mobo i'll stick hers in it

so I pretty much answered my question before any replies....

any suggestions tho? I have a radeon 9550 256mb currently running at 4x..so I think 8x is gonna be much better :D (plus with the much faster ram speed) games should be a bit more smoother for me

aw man thanks a lot!

I was thinking getting ram was gonna expensive....i'm going with 2 x 1gb

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...toreType=1&srchInDesc=

now the max ram on that board is 2gigs....now will it cut off that 48 mb?

lol now games are gonna be hella smoother (thinking of getting a nicer video card too)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814131090 which will make me just ol happy...

now what i'm worried about...is the cheap motherboard...!!!!

its really my only option...since I only want to order from newegg...

hmmmmmm

I'm thinking of doing this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...?ItemList=Combo.136655
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16820227189
http://www.newegg.com/Product/...x?Item=N82E16814102064

*links work now

its cheaper all together...plus its gonna be loads faster, plus its not gonna be a cheap ass mobo...though the processor seems a little weak by todays standards, but compared to my amd 2600+ should be better right? plus with the faster ram(800) plus with the faster video interface (pci express16x)

so if I stay with the old proccesor

60 - video card (8xagp)
40 - RAM (400)
25 - mobo (unreliable/cheap/amd 2600+)

but if I go with the new proccessor

61 - proccessor/mobo

22 - Ram (800)

40 - video Card (PCI 16x)

which comes a *little* cheaper....so i think this is a given...whats you opinion on the 'new' processor/mobo combo? (odds are i'll prob search for better option/with a little bit more expensive..since now that I know its the same price..and i'll be getting a whole lot more :D

thanks again!!!

Sorry, I hadn't seen your other post yet about the new mobo, CPU, RAM, and GPU. Those look fine except the combo deals are no longer available.

The X1650 PRO will be a huge improvement over R9550, but you should be able to find a GeForce 9500GT, GeForce 8600GT, or Radeon HD 3650 for around the same price after rebate deal (~$48.00 shipped). These would be even better than the X1650 PRO.
