Hello everyone,
I am building my own pc with my roommate but i have got some issues.

We tried to press the suppr key but nothing happened.

We are building this pc for the pleasure of learning new stuffs, but we are beginners, so if someone could help us it would be great! :)

Ok, now we're getting somewhere. OP, pressing the "Delete/Suppr" key only works once the BIOS is POSTing. If your screen remains black, it could indicate that it's not POSTing, or it could indicate a display output problem.

Do you have a PC speaker / beeper hooked up to the motherboard? Those can be used to hear diagnostic "beep codes".

Hi, I'm his roomate...

We are sure that the display is functional since we use it on an other computer.
But we are not sure that the PS2 keyboard works. The USB keyboard works fine.
I will try with the sound this afternoon, but we had speakers for some previous tests and we didn't hear anything :/
Do you think about any other debugging procedures?

Thank you for your help, it is really appreciated :D

I'm not talking about a sound card or audio output on the board, I'm talking about the little tiny mini-speaker / beeper that attaches to a 4-pin inline header connector on the mobo near the front-panel I/O pins.

Hi, thank you for the advice ! So, i didn't have a beeper at home, so I used an arduino to monitor this pin. I get a regular spike (should be beeping periodically around 1 bip / sec I guess), and no change when i'm pressing a key (delete or other) on any keyboard (USB or PS2). My account does not let me upload images...

I see in the doc (https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1029959/) that 1 short beep is no keyboard detected, so I guess it does not accept USB keyboard, and my PS2 keyboard is not working...

I will try another PS2 keyboard and come back to you after. Thanks !

Soo, I tried with another PS2 keyboard and it didn't work. Since the short beep means:
"VGA detected but
No keyboard detected"

We tried removing the HDMI monitor to see the error message "No VGA detected" which is One continuous beep followed by three short beeps. But the arduino still shows the same behavior: periodical beep. Sooo, I guess the keyboard might be seen, but we have another issue :/

Do we need to replace the HDMI monitor with a VGA? It should work with both right? Like with USB and PS2 keyboard?
We tried with the HDMI monitor connected to the motherboard and GPU.
We tried all the USB ports of the mother board for the USB keyboard.

Any other ideas?

Thank you for your advices !

I did try clearing the cmos to reset the BIOS (The Asus rectangular hardware that is on springs right?) And I tried without the graphic card, and without the memory (SSD and normal), I tried with only one stick of RAM. I also tried with a dual link cable to the monitor connected to the mother board. And yet, still no BIOS.

Any other ideas?

It's all good :D
I went to a store, the ram memory was not well placed, I always made the same mistake of not pushing hard enough. All working fine now, thanks for your help guys !
Have a nice day :)
