on boot up the PC keeps beeping!!! No display what so whatever on the monitor, and the NUM lock and CAPS lock don't work. I can hear the hard drive cranking up, but it doesn't seem to be booting! Any suggestion?

That's award bios. Continually beeping is a memory error, unless it is a "high-low" beep, which means a CPU error. If memory, take out and reseat.

You take it out and reseat it, and hope it works. Check your cpu fan too to make sure it didn't break, and burn out your CPU. Why? Are the beeps high then low? If same beeps (most common), then it's your memory.

I think your keyboard might be dead. I had the same symptoms, beeping and no numlight etc., and replacing the keyboard fixed it.

Yes. Award bios, at least, only resorts to beeps when it can't initialize the vid card to tell you about other problems (because of the CPU, memory, or vid card problems).

Edit: a quick check shows the AMI bios beeps six times when the keyboard is nixed. Other bios might do this, but award doesn't.
