Pc Anywhere Assistance Between 2 Diff Networks

Hello,
I am needing some assistance please.

Ok Ill try to keep this 2 a short story and explanation.

Computer A is hooked up to 2 different networks (Network A and Network b). Network A is for accessing files on and proceeses on other machines. Network B is connected to the internet. The computers on network A are NOT connected to the internet.

Computer A access a Router on Network A (192.168.1.101), and then a network cable is run to a Router on network B (192.168.0.1).

The problem is Computer A has Symantec Pc Anywhere and a computer offsite cannot access Computer A. Computer A has a static IP 192.168.1.106.

I setup Router B with port forwarding for Pc Anywhere (5631-5632). Still cannot get the offsite computer to login. It keeps timing out.

Should I be allowing port forwarding on Router B as well? If someone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
DON

On the Router that is connected to the Internet, you have to open the program?s ports directed toward the second Router?s core IP.

On the second Router, you have to open the ports directed at the IP of the computer to be controlled.

This page is written for VNC but the principle apples to pcAny as well, http://www.ezlan.net/vnc.html

Jack,

Thank you for the information you gave me it was pretty good. After several failed attempts I could not log in to what I thought was router B. I ran upstairs to see what was really up there (I was informed it was a router), to find out it was a 16port Linksys 😱 HUB!

Will this information still help or completely change the way Im looking at this animal?

A man who has been out of college too long to remember alot of Networking stuff, and needs a job in it REAL BAD!

If it is a Hub, you do not have Network A and Network B, you have to assign all your IPs within the same subnet.

As long as your are within the same subnet the Internet Router does not interfere with the LAN and pcAny should work straight.

However if the computer has software Firewall you have to open the ports as well.
