It's been a while since i've dealt with the slower stuff, but I just wanted to see if you can use pc-100 memory in a system that uses pc-66? I have an older Compaq Deskpro that i believe has a 32mb pc-66 chip and from an ebay auction a guy sold me a couple pc-100's (auction said pc-66's but he lied). Tried em and the system wouldn't boot alone, put them in (2-32mb pc-100's) with my 32mb pc-66 and it said i had like 164MB of ram and the system would reboot halfway through loading windows every time =) any help is appreciated...

The 32MB that came with the system is labeld; KM48S2020BT-G12

the 2 pc-100's i bought are labeled: 5264165FTTA60 HYB39S64160AT-8

thanks

I even tried teh PC-100 memory by itself one stick at a time and my system would not boot. I'm baffled.. I'm not down with the old stuff anymore. LoL

pc100 is very compatable with systems that require pc66

does the motherboard require ecc? registered? (if it requires ecc pc66 then regular pc66 or pc100 wont work)
