My friend wants me to order and install some new Memory on his older Compaq Presario 4409CL. I looked up the computer on Compaqs website and it says:

"256MB 133 MHz SyncDRAM, 2 Total DIMM Slots Upgradeable to 512MB (SyncDRAM DIMM required)"

I would like to order another stick of 256, but what is this SyncDRAM and what RAM has it?

rise4310 did the memory specify it was SyncDRAM or does it not matter what PC133 I buy? Could you provide a link to the model you purchased?

SyncDRAM = SDRAM or in your case PC133 SDRAM.

SyncDRAM = SDRAM
SDRAM = Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory

If you want to be completely sure what you purchase is compatible you could order it from Crucial but their prices are high.

PQI is fine... Rosewill is newegg's in-house relabel. I've seen people unhappy with thier products (Spectacular PSU death, and $6 mouse that always clicks twice) so I would avoid...
