Paypal'ing money from UK to US

right i may need to send money to a guy in america if i go ahead an purchase something from him

it would be around $440

so in paypal, i click send money -> put his email address in -> change currency to $ ->type in 440 -> send

if i put 440 dollars, how can i be sure its not gonna ****** up and debit me £440 (which is like $800) instead?

will it do the conversion for me?

It'll convert it for you but you should check with your bank. They might screw you over on exchange rates or with some extra fees...

there's has got to be somewhere to see what exchange rate they're using and the fees, easiest bet is to call them up. They probably use one rate for the whole day too and don't actually exchange untill like 23:59 GMT.

Probably true but then you have to hope paypal is the one actually doing this and they won't bill his debit card in dollars as that could = ownage from the bank...
