I have used paypal twice, bout a month ago and just recieved an email wanting me to confirm all my info...asked me to submit my cc numbers again...got on the phone and asked a friend (who deals in this type of chit) and asked him about it. His response was that I was being hacked and that if i gave them my numbers they would clean out my account...

this has probably been mentioned here before but if this gives the heads up to at least one person it was well worth it...

a true paypal email will address you by name...the false website looked just like the REAL thing...
came so close....

It's called phishing. Many, many people fall for this. to you for not giving out your information blindly.

Remember, whenever they ask you go confirm some info, don't use the link in the e-mail. Type the address yourself.
And remember also that ebay or paypal will never ask for your password through e-mail.
 for not falling for the nasty trap

this girl im dating almost got scammed on ebay.

she was about to bid/buy a $800 watch for $150.

it was a seller from germany with 8 feedback, listed for "u.s." only, and all of his feedback was listed as 'private', as were bidders of the auction. the guy wanted "bookpay or western union only"

poor girl... glad I caught it first
