I tried searching the Help files at the Paypal site, but I couldn't find any info on this specific question.

I've got a bunch of higher end camera gear I want to sell on eBay...But I'm worried I might hit any Balance limits on my PayPal Personal Account, and if so I won't be able to receive payments.

I know I can upgrade to a Premiere account, but that would mean having to pay extra fees to receive payments.

Any help is much appreicated, Thanks.

Because I'm in a good mood.

What is the Withdrawal Limit for new U.S. accounts?

New account holders are limited to withdrawing $500.00 USD per month from their PayPal account. The start of a month is marked when the PayPal account is opened (e.g. May 15 to June 15).

Is there a limit to the amount of payments Personal accounts can receive?

Yes. Depending on the Primary Currency of the Personal account, the receiving limit is $500.00 USD, $650.00 CAD, ?400.00 EUR, £250.00 GBP, or ¥56,000 JPY. (The receiving limit is based on the Primary Currency of the account. If you receive payments in more than one currency, your limit will be calculated based on the total amount you receive each month after the amount is converted into your Primary Currency.)

The receiving limit applies to the following payment types: eBay Items, Auction Non-eBay, and Goods-Other (Website sales). All applicable payments which exceed the monthly limit will be placed in accept/deny status until you upgrade your account to receive the payments or you choose to deny them. If no action is taken, the payment is returned to the buyer after 30 days. The limit is reset monthly on the anniversary of your sign up date.

Thanks for the reply DnaJ, but that's not the question I asked. I already found those answers you pasted.

My question is about any limits with the BALANCE for the Account...Not Withdrawal or Payments Received limits.

Higher end camera gear is runs in the hundreds of dollars...After selling my gear, I could have a total balance well over $1,000...So I want to know if PayPal Personal accounts have a BALANCE limit, like you can't have more than $1,500 total balance or something like that.

I have a way to go around it, but you may want to try.

make sure you say NON CC payment, so they can send the money to your personal paypal account.

the $500 limit actually mean any sales you made on ebay that you are getting via paypal. so you can have a buyer pay you in a different method in paypal to get around that.

of course, when I do this, I always offer my buyer to pay me by a check or money order with a few % of the total off. but they always want it fast

Anyone that leaves that amount of money in a paypal account for any length of time is stupid, no they don't have any 'balance limit'.
