I recently won some golf club and paid for it thur paypal. Then paypal email me this letter. Since paypal approve the money gram as a second payment option should i go ahead send the money thur money gram? or is this a SCAM? Thank guys

Heh...I wouldn't do it. Did you actually get a refund?

Did you copy/paste the email directly? 'Compromised' is not spelled correctly...another red flag, on top of the Moneygram/Western Union recommendation. There are also other grammatical and formatting errors not typically present in cookie-cutter emails (such the one you posted).

Report the seller to eBay/Paypal.

Email paypal and ask. They have a "is this a scam" email service that answers quickly. :)

Its a scam. Poor use of grammar in the email is a dead giveaway. I suggest that you contact Paypal as the other folks above have mentioned.

they'll greet you by your name.

Are all misspelled. As well, Paypal will "ALWAYS" use your name. (Exception for automatic returns). I can't find the email in there security feature page anymore, as I said, just email them, but this should really be a no brainer.

Contacting seller thur ebay to see if it's the same person that emailing me. He left positive Eval like he had recived payment i sent. Thanks guys

leave seller alone. listen to me, paypal will USE your name otherwise it's a scam.

First rule of online selling: If you have to ask: "Is it a scam?" IT IS !!!

However although this one is pretty obvious for all the reasons already mentioned by previous posters, you did the right thing by coming on here & asking before sending them your money so don't feel bad.

This is the ONLY thing you need to check.

Juno is right. If you see your email address instead of your real first/last name, then IT'S A SCAM. NO QUESTION ABOUT IT.

WTF.... did all of you overlook the fact that they are asking him to send money through a completely different site/wire transfer to a person in SPAIN? OF COURSE IT'S A FREAKING SCAM.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

Not only did it say you can't use PayPal, it SPECIFIED TO USE ONE SERVICE! As if none others would work? Obviously this site helps them with their scam.

Also the e-mail address that it came from, another dead giveaway.

Come on man, I feel this one was way too obvious.
