Paypal question

So I have been reading some postings around the net about Paypal horror stories and now I?m getting sorta paranoid since I started actually making some money with a real job. I?ve been using Ebay/Paypal for 7 sum years with no real problems because everything was handled between me and the buyer/seller. But people have been saying things like Paypal can/will go directly into your checking account and gank money out if they believe they or the other party are entitled to it. Of course the only recourse for this is a dispute via email or trying to call them (Which I have heard is a long wait and a lot of BS).

What is the safest considering that yes, I do use Ebay a lot.

I have 2 checking accounts with the same bank. Only 1 is linked to paypal of course. This one always has a balance of $0. Transfer from paypal to bank account. Then transfer to main bank account.

I transfer money from one institution from another to pay for everday expenses and paypal purchases.

With all the spoof, ID theft, one cannot take chances. You can't have your money in one place. It should be spread around because its safer IMO.

Nor do I, when the demanded access to a checking account to make further purchases, although there had been no problems with any credit card purchases I had made, I told them to go pound sand up their ass. Paypal will never never never have access to any of my bank accounts.

When I purchase through eBay, I explain to the seller that paypal will not be involved, and they have never turned down other payment methods.

I've been with Paypal for roughly 7 years. A long time ago I removed my bank account and have a single credit card for backup funding. Since I have a Paypal pulse card I can make local withdrawls up to $400 a day.

Ever since the lawsuit a few years ago, PayPal cannot debit or put a lien on your bank account without your authorization.

So the question about linking PayPal to your primary or secondary checking is moot. It doesn't matter at all either way. All you guys who are paranoid about linking PayPal to your bank accounts are blowing smoke (that wasn't the case pre-lawsuit, but it definitely is the case in the last few years since).

1) Only accept payments from users with 'Confirmed' addresses.
2) Only ship to 'Confirmed' addresses covered by the Seller Protection Policy (typically domestic locations only).
3) Make sure all items over $250 require a signature upon delivery.
4) If you ship with FedEx/UPS/DHL/etc., always add the tracking number to the PayPal transaction online.

If you play by their rules, you are protected. If you don't, you'll join the guys with horror stories. I used to have my own horror stories too (they've been resolved), but in hindsight I realized they could have all been avoided.

So do you ship via UPS/FedEx each time so that there is actual evidence that you shipped to a confirmed address? I sell a lot of PC games after I've finished 'em and I've gotten it down to a $4 art through USPS, but there is no paperwork, only receipt of the stamp.

If you're shipping through USPS, there is no reason you shouldn't be printing your labels through PayPal. That way they know you printed a label addressed to the 'Confirmed' address, you get free Delivery Confirmation, and the label number is tied to the transaction.

One ebay account for NON-CC PP ONLY that I don't list with the stupid little PP symbol and one that takes all forms of PP. If I say NON-CC PP ONLY then don't try to use your visa cause it is going to get rejected.

I didn't even think of that...good man, thanks.
