PayPal question

So I usually pay for stuff through paypal using credit card. I don't have a bank account linked to paypal or anything like that. However I never receieve any payment from anyone.

Will my paypal account automatically accept payment of all types? from bank transfers and credit cards or do I have to activate it somehow??

TIA

I think to accept credit card paypal you have to upgrade to a premier account, and then they take out a certain % of each incoming transfer of money into your account.

so do i have to pay to upgrade, or I just go click on "upgrade account".....seems wierd to me.

Paypal Premier/Business account is nice because it accepts credit card payments and some other perks.

However you are charged fees for ALL INCOMING payments regardless of funding source. So if someone sends you $10.00 via non-credit card payment, fees WILL be deducted.

Remember you can have TWO Paypal accounts (one personal and one premier/business), that's what my wife does.

I think that sounds like a good idea.

don't you need a bank account attached in order to receive payments tho? if not, how does PP pay you when you cash out? by check only? I don't think they credit your credit card acct.

I think you would need either:

1) Two separate bank accounts (which is no problem just ask your local bank or credit union to open a new checking account).

or

2) One checking account and one credit card.

that's what you need for separate premier & personal PP accounts, but the OP was saying he didn't have a bank account linked to his PP at all. I think you need to do that to accept payments.

I received a payment through PayPal. Now what?

After you sign up for a PayPal account, the payment you received will automatically be reflected in your account balance. There are many ways to use the funds in your PayPal balance:
Use it to send a payment to someone else
Use PayPal's virtual debit card to shop anywhere online
Sign up for the PayPal Money Market Reserve Fund to earn a return on your PayPal balance
Withdraw the money to your bank account
Request a PayPal ATM/Debit Card, and spend the money anywhere the MasterCard or Cirrus logos are displayed, or withdraw the money from an ATM

My guess is you don't have to have a bank account. In fact they probably prefer you don't withdrawal it and that you use it to pay for something else so they get more fees out of it. Don't know for sure though
