Once you sell something on ebay and get the funds via paypal is there anyway for paypal to come back and take back the funds? A verified paypal account prevents this right? Just wondering as I sold something and the buyer is in a rush to get it shipped and is going to be paying me via paypal. Thanks for any info you can give.

On the payment receipt, it would tell you if the payer is verified and if the transaction is eligible under Seller's Protection Policy.

Check the buyer's feedback.

Insist for non-credit card funding for the payment.

Be careful with buyer who wants rush (next day) shipping. If it is high value item, call the buyer (find the number from ebay and paypal) and verify that the transaction is legit, not from a stolen paypal account.

Ship UPS with proper insurance and signature on delivery. I usually ship 2 days upon receipt of payment.

They(Paypal) can take the money if the seller disputes it, it is just put "on hold" until resolved.

All you will need is proof of shipment and it's yours back.

Also, the buyer would have to dispute it within 30 days of payment, after 30 days Paypal does not take action against seller, proof or no proof.

If you're planning on ripping someone off, you're correct, they will get the last laugh.

If you're planning on running a legit business, but are concerned about chargebacks, I wouldn't worry too much about it. A few people have been burned, and complain about it. But it's a small percentage. You never hear about the thousands of people who have never had a chargeback. I've been using PayPal since 2000, and have not had a single problem. I love it.
