Paypal question about payment type...

When i receive a paypal payment from someone and the "payment type" is "instant", does that mean that the funds are coming from the buyers paypal funds, or can it still be from their credit card or bank?

 
So an "instant" payment doesn't mean for sure that the funds are coming from the person's paypal balance? And only and echeck would say something besides "instant"?
