I always do all my eBay auctions at a fixed price listing, immediate payment via paypal required.

Since Paypal Seller protection requires that you ship to a confirmed address, is there anyway to restrict buyers to 'Confirmed Addresses' only?

That would be a nice option. I wouldn't mind if you could restrict that to all incoming payments, no matter from eBay or not.

Yes, in your PayPal settings.

It's amazing how many people don't know about these simple steps to protect themselves on eBay.

Yes, you can set it up in your paypal account. It's best to also list this policy in your auctions so some of the etards don't get angry when their payment is declined.

this is why you get people saying "paypal sucks, don't use it"....Just as with anything else, if you know how to use paypal correctly, it doesn't "suck"

Sure, this can happen, but a plane can also fall on my head, that doesn't mean I won't go outside.

I sell over $10k/month on ebay, I never had this happen. The buyer simply does not complete the transaction after I point out "CONFIRMED ADDRESS ONLY" in big red letters in my auctions.

It's not my fault if the buyer can't read.

another tip:

take out the "Note" preference in your paypal payment acceptance options. this way the buyer can't put a different address in the "Note" section. Buyers sometimes will say something like "I just moved and I couldn't figure out how to have my new address confirmed, so just send it to xxx" in the Note section.

I have a program that automatically transfers the paypal info to fedex shipping program, so I never read the notes anyway. Let them email you separateyl if they have a pressing need.

I have a neg from someone because of it, they said I was being discriminatory:roll:

I also have a neg from a buyer with a -3, apparently someone didn't file a NPB so they weren't kicked off.

And also from another bidder who was pissed that I sniped them (back from ~1998, when you could leave feedback without having a transaction with them).

I've collected a lot of wierd negatives in the past 10years.

thanks

...and as a side-note to this, I was just wondering if non-confirmed Canadian addresses will be blocked as well?
