Hi,

There are no fees for sending a payment. A recipient would pay 2.2/2.9 and .30 depending on which rate they have their account at (Standard vs. Merchant rate).

Fees on a thousand would be over 20.00. You could also recommend that your buyer pay you with an echeck (5.00 cap on echecks).

Just put in post that if pay-pale is used that the winning bidder will pay all associated fees in addition to the winning bid price. I usually say that bank check/money order is preferred.

In contravention of the TOS? Good job.

I have never understood the point of that piece of the contract. In my opinion (having used PayPal for both buying and selling), the buyer is getting the vast majority of the PayPal benefit. They are paying quickly so the seller can ship quickly so they can receive their item quickly.

The argument that says PayPal is protecting the seller by guaranteeing they receive payment is a weak one. A smart seller will insist on a certified check or a money order (or at the very least waiting until the personal check clears). It is no skin off of my back as a seller to wait a few days for the check to arrive and a few extra days for it to clear before shipping the item. As a buyer, though that extra time is excruciating.

I always give my buyers many options to pay (PayPal being one of them). However, if they choose to use PayPal, I charge the fees back to them.

Hi Garet Jax,

It is actually against PayPal's rules to charge buyers (it is actually a credit card association rule) for accepting the credit card.
