PayPal account questions

So here's the story. I had a personal account in PayPal with basically no balance. I received a credit card payment to my account, and PayPal said I couldn't accept the payment without upgrading to a Premier account. So I looked around, saw that it didn't cost any up-front or monthly/yearly money, so I upgraded for free. PayPal accepted the payment and took a fee out of the payment. I looked around in ATOT and people were saying that Premier accounts take fees out of ANY transaction from a premier account.

now, i'm wondering- is there any way to go back to a personal account, or did I just screw myself?

You can downgrade once.

Edit > You're also allowed to have two account, one for credit cards and one personal. I personally decided to live with just a premier account as it's rather pay the 2.9% fee than direct people to the proper paypal account each time I have someone pay me. The majority of people using paypal pay with a credit card.

okay, so Personal accounts don't take fees out of the transactions that are allowed with a personal account?

I did the same thing a couple of years ago!
Oh well, the paltry 2.9% isn't worth griping about.
On the plus side, since I don't use a credit card, Paypal would not, no matter what or how many transactions I had, show my address as "verified". Now, since upgrading to a Premier account, any address I put in is listed as "Verified".
(I have my Office, Home, Apartment, Jobsite, and PO box all listed, all "verified")
How they "verified these addresses, I have no idea, but what the hey!

Guess they gotta make money off of you to be verified 🙂
