Paypal 1.5% cashback with debit card???

How does this work exactly? Do they credit the 1.5% back to your paypal account?

I just upgraded my personal account to a preirmere account. I didn't really want to do
it but I guess maybe if this 1.5% cashback is a good deal then what the heck.

It just sucks that paypal will get like $4 for every $100 I receive now. Adds
up if you do alot of trading/selling/etc.

There is the scam. the 1.5% cash back will just reduce that to $2.50 per $100.

Yeah its better than nothing!! Atleast until I have both a personal and preimere
account. Not quite sure how to go about that one yet or if its possible to have
one of each in YOUR name.

I just had to receive a large payment from someone which cause me to have to upgrade or deny the payment 🙁

I dunno about that. Its basically what supermarkets do, inflate their prices and issue "club" cards to give you big "discounts" on all their items.

I love it. Every month I transfer couple of hundred dollars from my checking and use it fir all my purchases. The cashback is automatic.

Kinda.....

But in the case of PayPal, you don't really have any(popular..) alternatives that offer the goods(service) cheaper..

I think I might look into this. If the money doesen't come from PayPal in the first place(ie: you transfer it from your bank account), then it's a free +1.5%, right?

According to Mal that is true, but don't you have to have a certain # of auctions over a certain period of time to keep the account open?

yes, its like an average of 1 auction every 3 weeks i think is what u have to maintain to get the 1.5% back, but if ur a big spender, send from bank acct transfer, and buy something off urself for the .35 listing fee every month

Hi jmoe782,

How do I become "PayPal Preferred"?

To become PayPal Preferred and get 1.5% cashback on all of your debit card purchases:
Sell on eBay

Enroll in the PayPal Preferred program by clicking the "PayPal Preferred" link in the "Enhance Account" box on your Account Overview page. Enrollment will include registering your eBay User ID and Password.

Advertise PayPal as the only online payment service on your eBay listings. You can still accept checks and money orders, and you can even mention other online payment services in your end-of-listing email to buyers, but to be eligible for PayPal Preferred, you need to advertise PayPal exclusively on your actual listing.
After you have enrolled, you will receive 1.5% cashback on all purchases where you do not use a PIN (restaurants, department stores, online, etc). Most merchants will let you use your ATM/Debit Card without entering your PIN - just choose Credit instead of Debit when given the choice.
