Thanks, AppleVision1710. I received this 6 days after ordering, and I'm very happy with it. It takes better pictures than I would have expected from a 640 camera, especially outdoors. Indoors is also good, if you don't get closer than 4-6 feet from a reflective subject. The only red-eye I've gotten is from my senior dog. Downloading has been flawless from the start (I use Visioneer's scanner software, not the skinnified bubble-gum included software). As for batteries, I've taken 58 pictures so far, mostly w/flash, and the original battery shows no sign of weakening. The price of a replacement is c. $6.50 at Wal-Mart. One thing to remember is not to hurry it; let it finish processing one picture before taking the next (7-10 seconds).
