I think it's time to look for a better news server. Airnews seems to be in a downward spiral. And GigaNews has a nasty gigs/month pricing schedule. Can someone recommend a reliable new server that has good retention, decent speed for a cable connect & gets all the parts most of the time??

I just switched over to usenetnewserver from and love it. I think I am on the 3.5 gig a month for 12 bucks.
 
I saw the new Giganews garbage and was amazed. I used them awhile back when AT&T's news server started sucking badly (right around when they started Worldnet -- it was really awful for awhile). Now they are charging an arm and a leg for access with a reasonable monthly amount. What's a warez hound to do? 😉

I'll have to check newsguy since my current news server is so ridiculously slow, I cannot DL anything (8 MB takes about 40 minutes -- woohoo!).

Of course, I don't really need anything from Usenet anymore, but the fact that I cannot get it vexes me. 😀
