Bascially if we are talking about low wage/paying jobs such as a maid or waitress, is pay a motivational factor for them when they are making 5.15-$7 an hour?

Use the concept of expectancy theory

This question doesn't work for me. I would say pay is not a motivational factor; they go to work because they really enjoy being treated like sh*t by people like me. Not for the money.

I mean in all seriousness. Is pay the factor that motivates them or is it making ends meat or a little of both

Seriously wtf do you mean? This makes no sense. You make ends meet with the pay.

Whenever I worked at a $7/hr job I did a pretty sh|tty job. Why? Because its a $7/hr job. If I get fired, who cares? There's plenty more where that came from.

Sadly, compared to my coworkers I usually appeared like a work obsessed nut.

That's what my wife always said about hiring kids for retail positions.

If you pay them minimum wage, you get minimum work from them. But...well, it's minimum wage! If you want more WORK from them than the minimum, you need to PAY MORE.
