Before moving into this place where I am at that is serviced by Pavlov Media for both tv and internet, I asked 3 times in the office if I was able to have my choice if I wanted to get my own Comcast.
I was told yes all 3 times.
Now after accepting the 12 month lease, I find out that is not the case. Comcast can't even service the place since I guess when it was built they didn't have a contract with the management to even put in wiring.
I am now without 3 internet service for 3 days. It started after a power outage in the early morning before getting up for work.
The way the internet service works is you just plug-and-play...You connect, you get a sign up screen for Pavlov, and away you go...hopefully (my case it wasn't working for a few days when I moved in).
A few calls to Pavlov trying to find out what the upload and download speeds where supposed to be rated at and if I had an email account included in the package ran into seemingly clueless support technicians.
On the speed issue, two calls gave me two different responses. The email call was kinda like...umm yah if you change your email from your previous provider (comcast)...just delete that name and fill in pavlovmedia.com...
I felt like I had to lead them on and tell them smtp....mail.pavlov...?
Since I can't get Comcast here anymore for up to 6mbt or 8 if I paid more my only other choice is DSL (ATT).
They have on their website an elite package but I don't know if it is available for me yet. Broadbandreports.com says I am 11k-12k feet from the co. The elite package is 3-6 mbps down, 384-608 up at 1 year term for 27.99 a month.
If you go on a month to month term it is 44.99 a month.
The other gripe I have about Pavlov is on occasion I will get a white error web page with the error code and something about buffer...something error...like caching?...when trying to bring up webpages.
It gives me support@pavlovmedia.com or something like that as a contact.
It will usually fix itself in a few minutes.
The plus side to this is that the internet and tv are all included in the property so it is less strain on the budget.
What is your opinion on getting the DSL?
Have you ever heard of this Pavlov and if so any comments on their service?
