I have a HP Pavilion 7845 and the floppy drive failed. I have been trying to find a replacement floppy for my model pavilion and there are plenty of floppies but none are physically compatable with my casing. If ANYONE has any information with where I could get a floppy drive for my computer please let me know.

One useful hint: The Button is the Key
Casing Button is Circular, and the floppy drive button should slide into it. floppy drives with the ovular buttons will not fit. unless they are removable bnut I have read nothing about them being so.

Have you tried calling HP up? Check their website as well, usually they sell all the parts they use for their systems.

If I were in that situation, I would pull out my Dremel and make the ovular button round ;) Don't be shy!

Good luck, we had a Pav that had a fried power supply and you can't get replacements from HP for it and its only two years old. had to find a old refurbished one. I would never ever buy an HP.

But trying to find the power supply, HP told me that all Radio Shacks are HP service centers( they send them off for repairs) but they should be able to order the part for you.

Yeah, go with the 3.5" to 5.25" floppy adapter kit if you must. It'll probably look ugly, but there's slim to no chance of being able to pick up a a specifically semi-bezeled floppy with a specific round button (likely specially made for HPs case).

Of course... I nice USB key drive with a USB extender cable included in the kit would be so much cooler for a GF.
