Pavel Podkolzin, 7'4 300LBS, this guy is huge!

From ESPN Mock draft.

Positives: He's very, very raw. He doesn't know how to take advantage of his size in the post and spends too much time on the perimeter. The kid thinks he's a 6-foot-4 two guard, not a 7-foot-4 center. It will be a while before he figures out how to play in the post.

Man if he could learn to post up like Shaq/Duncan, oh my!🙂 I wonder if any NBA team will take a chance of him over James/Anthony/Millac 😀.

Buyout issues guarantee he won't get picked first over the above mentioned 3. It'd be pretty cool if the Mavs took a chance on him, fat chance though. The Mavs have a niche for developing great players. Dirk has really blossomed, I'm sure given the chance Pavel could easily become what Shaq is to the Lakers now

The Raptors have the number four pick, and they've been known to squander high picks on risky players like this.

At only 18 year's old, this kid could be a huge impact in 3-4 seasons of practice🙂.

and how do we know this about his ankles? lots of sprains or what?

I think there are too many unknowns...won't go in the lottery, but someone will always be willing to take a chance on a frame with athleticism like that. watch the lakers draft him. 😀

NBA Insider.

Milicic said he could barely walk, much less play on a consistent basis.

I thought his buyout was taken care of already, meaning there would be no problems according to his current team.

But, in any case, there is no way he pushes on of the big 3 out. Lebron, Milicic, Melo in that order. Go Nugs!

wow really big

Sounds like the next Yao Ming.
...has the size and skillz and potential.
don't know whether he'll flop or not.

btw... nice try but I beat you to my handle by 3 months 😉

if anyone's going to teach him a post game, please don't let it be Shaq. Shaq's "post game" consists of an ugly turn around "jumper" and dunking the ball.

After about the first ten picks in the first round, the rest of the picks have weaknesses. Whoever the first team outside the lottery is should take him. I wish he would fall to the Mavs. I would love to have him as a project instead of taking some other marginal player with low upside.

You're hilarious, Shaq has like the best back to the basket post up moves of all time, the only reason he dunks so much is that he can, cause he gets so close to the rim. Over the years Shaq's mental game is improving he has added the baby hook, and sometimes gets the pretty finger roll layup. Shaq may also have the best footwork of any center let alone someone for his size, whom there has never been.

As for Podkolzin, he will go on the lottery, I have been reading about this guy on ESPN for quite some time and at the latest workout he really impressed a lot of people. The Clippers will almost surely pick him up to replace Kandi. Anyone that is that big and can play basketball at all is a phenom, not many teams would pass that up, especially since the road to a championship depends so heavily on the PF and Center postions.

oh yeah.

i thought you were being sarcastic at first, then i realized you were being serious.

guys like McHale, Olajuwon, even Duncan make Shaq's post game look like a joke.

Yeah, Shaq's game is the ugliest out of all the great centers.

"lemme barrel my way through opponents, with a shoulder and elbow thrown here and there to knock my defenders on the floor, and then do my ugly-ass hang on the rim dunk that looks like i'm trying rip it off the backboard."

no doubt Shaq is effective because of his size.

i just don't see him with the skills of any of the top centers of "all time".

hell, even Jermaine O'Neal has some nice moves in the post.
