Pavel Bure was traded to the NYR from Florida Panthers for:

Filip Novak
Igor Ulanov
a first round pick in 2002
a fourth round pick in 2003
and a switch of second round picks in 2003

I think Florida got hosed on the deal.

Cheers,

Hockey-wise yes, accounting-wise no. That's around $9,000,000 Florida won't have
to payout next year to miss the playoffs again.

As a Panthers fan am happy to see that one-dimensional player go but damn we didn't even bring in York as part of the deal.Pavel is a great scorer but thats all you get with him no defense at all.

Stupid Bure.

Hopefully he'll alienate himself from every team in the NHL, and be out of a job.

the funny thing is that I heard the news yesterday that the GM of Panthers said that Bure won't go anywhere before the trade deadline.... Ha

As a Rangers fan, I'm optimistic. I was against the deal if they were to give up York, but they got away with giving up essentially just Novak and a 1st rounder. Ulanov was a waste and the 4th rounder means very little.

True, they're need for some kind of defense is much more great, but they just added 50 goals to the lineup at little personnel cost to the team. I'm just glad I don't have to foot the bill...

It has been an interesting day. Oates is going to Philly, Kasparitius is going to Colorado. It is weird for an NHL trading deadline to go by and there be no activity by my beloved Red Wings.

Screw the Red Wings .. the Rangers were within 3 minutes of getting at least (1) point on Sunday and the Wings went ahead and scored. The Rangers made out like bandits on this deal .. I did NOT want to give up York, and Florida didn't even ask for Dvorak (Injured as he may be) .. we gave away nothing, got some offense .. yet our defense is still horrible. I am not a Bure fan (I wasn't a big Lindros fan either) but if he puts the puck in the net and Mike Richter keeps it out on the other end, maybe we can finally make the playoffs.

Huge game tonight - both teams fighting for their playoff lives ..

LET'S GO RANGERS!

I hope Vancouver wins tonight. I hope the Rangers don't make the playoffs. Damn Islanders are slowing down now, too. NJ is picking it up - and to think I was mad when they fired Larry Robinson and got Kevin Constintine. The Devils have kept their Goals Allowed below 2 ever since Kevin Constantine jumped ship. :D :D :D

That would be because they got rid of him in the first place.

I was at that game on Sunday, excellent game other than the last 3 minutes. I actually go to school in Philly, spent the last half hour making fun of the Oates trade. Talk about mortgaging your future for a run this year. Oates is 39 years old!

Wish the Rangers could've put something together for Kasperitus, but maybe once he's a free agent...

Bure will perform well under the lights at MSG. The Rangers need defense though. With the acquisition of Bure, they will try to outscore their opponents. This will help their team though. Bure is a hard worker and a skilled player. I can't wait to see how he does. :)

Go Wings!

Hrmmm did someone say Bure is a hardworker???? Dammit guess my eyes are just bad and its not him waiting for the puck every damn time rather than playing.York is a hardworker but not Pavel Bure atleast not in Florida.

Thanks... I'm wondering, where is Soulflare looking for trade information? This was not posted at ESPN when he first reported it. I know the deadline was 3:00, but I'm just wondering who's more on top of it than ESPN?

Thanks,

CK
