pauses in giants?

hi all, I just got the full version of Giants, but have noticed that after 10 or so minutes of play, it *really* starts to slow down. Like it seems to be running fluid for half a second, then proceeds to pause for the next half, it's very wierd and VERY annoying. Even when you are just looking at the ground in a very basic area it is still rought (sp?) with this damned pausing.

I suspected a memory leak within the drivers, yet changing to another 6 sets didn't remedy the problem. I turned off Conservative Swapfile Usage, etc, etc, etc.

Would anyone have an idea as to how i could remedy this problem? Much appreciated 🙂

Blessed be

i had the same problem, i re-installed the game and it was smooth sailing. btw the game is locked to run @ 45 fps by the developers.

I think it does that to us all from what i hear on game spy when playing online. It needs another patch. For some strange reason though tonight while online my fps where hitting 75-80 and never whent below 30 with my Kyro.Usually it stays around 20 @ 800x600 32 bit with all eye candy on.I dont understand this. It didnt have a stutter at all.I didnt do anythingto my system or drivers.BTW my sync is off on my pc thats how i broke the fps cap in the game.

ok, thanks for all your help guys 🙂🙂 i'll try them all out tonight or tomorrow. BTW i noticed that both my friends had it running fine on their systems, one that's very closely specced to mine, apart from the motherboard. Both of them were using win2k. Maybe that has something to do with it, because those are the symptoms of a memory leak, and i know win2k to have better memory management... But I'll try them all anyway 🙂 Should have win2k on this system soonish anyway 🙂

Thanks all 🙂
